Troncones

Two months after Waylon was born, we jumped on a plane and headed to Mexico for Christmas with my family. There was no more relaxing Christmas vacation than hanging on the beach, doing a name draw, picking out local gifts for each other, and lounging by the pool and beach with 3 babies! Honestly, it was one of the best Christmas’ I have.

One of my most stressful concerns was flying with an infant - something I didn’t anticipate making me anxious, but he was a rock star. It was a pretty short flight just shy of 4 hours. We nursed at take off and landing, he loved the view, got passed around between Rob and my mom, and he got his wings along with his first passport stamp. Without a doubt, he was the cutest passenger on board…obviously!

We rented a the villas at Casa de la Sirena in Trancones, a small surf village just north of Zihuatanejo. This cute little town was easy to navigate - there is really just one road - safe to cruise around in with babies, had good coffee shops and restaurants, and the daily fruit truck was key! We did Yoga at Present Moment and just relaxed while we waited for a little surf.

I always think it’s fun to experience different cultures during the holidays. We were in Spain in November years ago and seeing their decorations, traditions, and history was beautiful. That was true for Mexico as well. We walked the streets on Christmas Eve to hear music and festivities around every turn, watched part of a Catholic Mass, and got to fill the frostie pinata with candy. Christmas ended with a bonfire on the beach which was perfect.

There were a lot of adventures along the way…

…And a lot of really cute bald babies.
