Timing

They – whoever they are – say that timing is everything. I would have to agree 100%! I have listened to friends, family, and strangers talk about timing, timelines, rushing things, forcing things, waiting for things, needing more time, saying the time isn’t right, and the list goes on…and on! In all my years I have been guilty of all these statements or excuses, trust me.

I consider “timing” like the “what if’s” in life. We could obsess over them or just trust that each move we have made (or that has been made for us) has been for a reason. Maybe it’s to test our strength or show us our weakness, to give us power or take it away; maybe it’s to show us the beauty of what’s in front of us rather than constantly looking back…or for that matter focusing too much on the future. I can’t help but wonder if our obsession with ‘timing and what if’ is driven by that little friend we all have called ego. The ego isn’t a bad friend, but must be watched closely because it can have a dark side, and ultimately be a game changer.

As difficult as it is, sometimes we all need let go and surrender to what is in front of us NOW, after all, we can’t change destiny. We all want to control our life, but at some point, we need to trust ourselves and just live presently. If all we have is time, let’s make the best of it.

I am so thankful that time has allowed me to find out who I am as a woman, both good and bad, and the true me I didn’t know ten years ago…maybe not even two years ago! Each day I get to spend more time with the people I love and the life I am fortunate to lead. Today, I trust that time is on my side, regardless of what happens tomorrow!
